Course Outline

MYOB is an accounting software system that opens up a world of opportunities to streamline the way you manage your business and increase efficiency.

Starting out with a new accounting software is always challenging. This workshop will help you customise MYOB to your business requirements and provide you with all the basics you will need to run your accounts (including payroll).

In our Xero workshop we give you the skills you need to:

  • Set up your MYOB company accounts from scratch – company settings and customise the chart of accounts
  • Create customer and supplier contact lists
  • Manage purchases and make payments including batch payments
  • Manage sales and receive payments including batch payments
  • Use the bank feed
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Manage payroll including adding new employee details
  • Enter payroll calendars and pay items
  • Set up leave entitlements and process pay runs including includes preparing payslips and preparing the batch payment in Xero
  • Prepare end of year procedures including payment summaries.

About the tutor

Sigrid Goerges, a small business owner and registered BAS agent, holds an Advanced Diploma of Accounting and uses MYOB in her own business. She brings years of hands-on experience mixed with a passion for teaching.
