Course Outline

Improve your spoken and written English for work and everyday life in Australia. Units are selected from FSK20113 Certificate II in Skills for Vocational Pathways and cover Australian pronunciation, Australian English listening skills, workplace communication skills, negotiating and problem solving, common Australian phrases and slang, meeting participation skills, presentation skills, writing (emails, letters, reports, resume, etc.), grammar and vocabulary.

Anyone with upper-intermediate to advanced English who wishes to expand their speaking and writing skills in order to confidently work and/or study in Australia.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment for the following FSK20113 Certificate II units:
• Use strategies to respond to routine workplace problems (FSKLRG09)
• Use routine strategies for work-related learning (FSKLRG11)
• Write routine workplace texts (FSKWTG09)
• Interact effectively with others at work (FSKOCM07)
• Use oral communication skills to participate in workplace meetings (FSKOCM04)
• Pronunciation – Advanced (CSO201606)
• Use oral communication skills for effective workplace presentations (FSKOCM05)

To attend this course, you will need to:
• Make an appointment for an assessment. Call 9387 7400 or email info@cec.edu.au to make an appointment.
• Obtain a unique student identifier (USI), which we can help you set up when you are assessed.
• Pay the full fee (tourist, working holiday and other types of temporary visas).
A reduced fee of $20 (subsidised by the NSW Government) for eligible permanent residents and citizens – please call 9387 7400 make an appointment to check your eligibility.
