Course Outline

Develop fluency and accuracy to communicate effectively in everyday life or at work in an Australian context. This course will cover the following topics:

Australian pronunciation, intonation and sentence stress

Australian idioms & slang
Using clear and polite language

Formal and informal registers

Negotiating problems
Phone calls in English
Conduct effective workplace presentations
Vocabulary and grammar for effective communication

Ideal for

This course is suitable for upper-intermediate/advanced students who wish to improve their pronunciation, learn Australian idioms and slang, formal and informal vocabulary, communication strategies, improve their overall speaking skills and develop more confidence.

Outcomes

Units are selected from FSK20113 Certificate II in Skills for Vocational Pathways. Upon successful completion students will receive a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment with the units covered.

All course materials will be provided. Just bring a notebook and a pen and be ready to learn in a friendly and relaxed environment.
