Course Outline

* Do you struggle to hold a conversation? Do you want to improve your writing skills for work?

This course will help you develop your spoken and written skills, particularly in the workplace. Learn the vocabulary you need to use at work and to write letters and emails. Improve your fluency, grammar and reading at the same time.

Students who want to improve their English for work.

Entry requirements

  • Intermediate level of English.

This course will give you the skills you need to

  • Participate in simple spoken interactions at work
  • Write simple emails and letters
  • Use simple strategies for work-related learning
  • Read and respond to simple workplace information


Units are selected from FSK10213 in Skills for Vocational Pathways. Upon successful completion students will receive a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment.

Fees and Government Subsidies

This course may be subsidised by the NSW Government under the Smart and Skilled program, which assists eligible candidates in gaining the skills required to find a job. Students may be eligible for a concession or fee exemption, determined through Training Services NSW criteria. Students who claim an exemption or concession are required to provide evidence in accordance with the Smart and Skilled eligibility criteria. The full fee of $690.00 applies to non-residents (tourist, working holiday and other types of temporary visas) and those not eligible for a government subsidy.

All course materials will be provided. Just bring a notebook and a pen and be ready to learn in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Assessments are made against units of competency from the Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways FSK10213.
