Course Outline

Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), often referred to as Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) involves the assessment and migration of risks that may impact the health, safety or welfare of those in your workplace. This may include the health and safety of your customers, employees, visitors, contractors, volunteers and suppliers. As a business owner there are legal requirements that you must comply with to ensure your workplace meets WHS obligations.

Creating a safe work environment is a legal requirement and critical to the long term success of your business. It can: help you retain staff; maximise employee productivity; minimise injury and illness in the workplace; reduce the costs of injury and workers' compensation and ensure you meet your legal obligations and employee responsibilities.

This is a NSW Governemnt subsidised Tech Savvy for Small Business Course. To be eligible for a FREE place, you must be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen, aged 15 years or older, Live or work in NSW, No longer be at school or equivalent and be an owner of a small business, OR an employee of a small business. A Small Business is defined as a business with: 20 employees or less, OR an annual turnover of less than $2,000,000.

Assessments are made against units of competency.
  • Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements (BSBWHS401)
