Course Outline

Tablets are a revolutionary new way of accessing the internet, playing games and communicating. They can do a lot of the things your computer can do, and they can be used or carried pretty much anywhere.

This hands-on workshop is designed for beginners and will cover the very basics from what that round button at the bottom of the iPad does to how you can move or delete an app. Become iPad literate and enjoy information technology.

Ideal for...

Seniors! This workshop is for people who are absolute beginners with an iPad and what to finding out what they can do. You don’t need to have a lot of PC or mobile smartphone experience.


• Learn about hardware and basic interface of an iPad
• Understand how to use touchscreens and gestures
• Learn how to use the web browser, calendar, apps store and more.

What to bring

• Please bring your charged iPad with you.

The Tech Savvy Seniors Program is part of the NSW Ageing Strategy which was launched in July 2012 by the Minister for Ageing at City East College. It is initiative of the NSW Aging Strategy, funded through a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra.
