Course Outline

Calms your mind, increase circulation and improves flexibility using Yin yoga, a slower pace of yoga which consists of a series of long held passive floor poses that work on the connective tissues. Connective tissue responds to slow, steady load, which is why we hold the poses longer.

Yin Yoga merges the Indian system of Yoga with Taoist principals of meridians and energy flow. It offers an opportunity to cultivate a non defensive attitude towards sensation, encouraging body awareness and a calm mind.

In this course you will explore the three main principles of yin yoga postures.
• First, learning to come into the posture to an appropriate edge.
• Second, to help nourish the joints is to become still allowing our muscle to soften and gravity to take over.
• Third is to hold each pose a little longer than usual. For new students one to three minutes, for more experienced and extra two minutes.

When you understand how to set up the posture our intention is to our breath in the centre of our body allows the mind to drop into yin poses in a very efficient way. This practice has a calming effect on the emotions of the mind.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as those who have previous yoga experience.


Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.
