Course Outline

Develop your Spanish skills with Spanish Level 2! This course is for those who have completed CECC Beginners level Spanish or have an elementary knowledge of the language and would like to continue their Spanish studies. Our classes are run using action-based methodology and a communicative approach, in order to give context to the contents learnt in class. To gain the most out of this course, it is suggested that students commit to 2 or more hours per week of independent study.

To enhance your experience, our Online Spanish classes are limited to ten participants using Zoom.

Ideal for...

Students who know basic Spanish and want to continue learning the language. Students must have completed Beginners Spanish or equivalent (please refer to our Beginner’s Spanish course).

Outcomes

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

• Describe basic traveling experiences, places and cultures
• Expand your knowledge and conversation related to preferences, interests and intentions for the future
• Communicate successfully when shopping and identifying objects and products
• Tell the time and describe your daily routine.

Contents

(Units 3, 5, and 6 of the textbook)

• Describe basic information about Spanish Speaking countries
• The weather
• Expansion of question formation and structures
• Use of ‘hay’, ‘es’, and ‘está’ to describe location, as well as characteristics of a place
• Numbers 100 to 1000
• Basic vocabulary and exchanges when shopping
• Identifying objects
• Review of regular verbs and introduction to irregular verbs
• Vocabulary to tell the time and describe your daily routine
