Course Outline

Develop your Spanish skills with Spanish Level 3! This course is for those who have completed CECC Spanish Level 2 or have some knowledge of the language and would like to continue their Spanish studies. Our classes are run using action-based methodology and a communicative approach, which means in class, you will have plenty of opportunities to practice with your teachers and classmates, all the basic grammar, vocabulary, and knowledge about the Spanish Speaking Culture. To gain the most out of this course, it is suggested that students commit to 2 or more hours per week of independent study.

To enhance your experience, our Online Spanish classes are limited to ten participants using Zoom.

Ideal for...

Students who know basic Spanish and want to continue learning the language. Students should have completed CECC Spanish Level 2 or equivalent (please refer to our Spanish Level 2 course outcomes).

Outcomes

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

• Describe your routines and daily habits
• Have a better understanding of regular and irregular verbs in the present tense
• Expand your knowledge and conversation related to culture, food, traditional dishes, and basic recipes
• Describe your interests and preferences in depth, as well giving reasons and explanations.


Contents

(Units 5, 6 and 7 of the textbook)

• Describe interests in depth, as well as basic traits of personality
• Vocabulary to tell the time and describe your daily routine
• Review of regular verbs and introduction to irregular verbs
• Vocabulary related to food and instructions for basic recipes
• Talking about traditional dishes in different Spanish speaking countries
• Introduction to the direct object lo/la/los/las when giving instructions

The use of the textbook allows both teachers and students to follow the course content and program and it will be one of the main resources for the class, as well as homework and additional practice. You will be using the same textbook for the first 4 levels of Spanish.
