Course Outline

A White Card is necessary for all construction work. It is the nationally recognised general construction induction training that is required for all construction work, entry on any construction site and in a range of other industries.

Learners are issued a SafeWork NSW White Card upon successful completion.

This course will give you the skills needed to...

  • Comply with mandatory Work Health and Safety laws
  • Identify construction hazards
  • Assess and control the risks of those hazards
  • Follow procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies
  • Correctly select and fit common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work

Required for...

  • anyone seeking work in the construction industry
  • site managers, supervisors, surveyors, labourers and tradespeople
  • people who access operational construction zones (unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person)
  • workers whose employment causes them to routinely enter operational construction zones

About your trainer

Our trainers are registered with SafeWork NSW. They are not boring and will provide students with great knowledge based on their experience.

What to bring...

Evidence of identity for 100 points. These must include a photo id, address and signature.

Special consideration can be given if you are a school student or Indigenous and do not have evidence for 100 points. Call our office on 9387 7400 for information.

Entry requirements

You will need to have language, literacy and numeracy skills (LLN) that allow you to read and interpret information and complete workplace forms. City East Community College may conduct an LLN assessment as part of the pre enrolment process.

Certification

Upon successful completion learners will be issued a Statement of Attainment for CPCCWHS1001 Work safely in the construction industry. In addition to the statement of attainment, a Statement of Training (SOT) is issued and is valid for 60 days. The final SafeWork NSW White Card will be posted to the students address within the 60 days.

All courses need a minimum number of students to run. If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed. For your convenience information about class cancellations or changes are made initially via email and SMS, please ensure these details are correct.

Assessments are made against units of competency from the course in Statement of Attainment in Construction (White Card) SG00007014.
