Course Outline

Xero is an online accounting software that opens up a world of opportunities to streamline the way you manage your business, increase efficiency and ensure compliance. As it is cloudbased, it enables you to run your business from anywhere, anytime from any internet connected device - phone, tablet or computer.

Starting out with a new accounting software is always challenging. This workshop will help you customise Xero to your business requirements and provide you with all the basics you will need to run your accounts. Fundamental bookkeeping principles and important regulatory compliance standards will be explained as you progress.

In our Xero workshop we give you the skills you need to:

  • Navigate the Xero dash board
  • Set up your xero company accounts from scratch - company settings and customise the chart of accounts
  • Create customer and supplier contact lists
  • Manage purchases and make payments including batch payments
  • Manage sales and receive payments including batch payments
  • Use the bank feed
  • Reconcile bank accounts

Important - As Xero is a cloud based accounting program it is important that each student has signed up to Xero (either a full subscription or the trial version, which will last for 30 days) and has access to it, as you will be using the demo company that is provided by Xero
